my Mega 2560 is a brick ?

hi

i bought clone  mega2560 rev3 atmega2560-16au, pluged usbto pc
i run ubuntu 14.04,  latest arduine 1.6.3
serial port  on  "ttyusb1" default)...select mega2560 card... prog avrisp mkii(default)

here are... 1st time plug, 2 red led lights on ?   is normal ?
the troubleshooting says green led should ; if not meens bootloader ko.......; right ?


anyway when try upload blink sketch..all got this  ( try allserial ports & things ... reset...)
avrdude: stk500v2_receivemessage(): timeout
avrdude: stk500v2_getsync(): timeout communicating programmer

if hardware probleme, there way configure mega2560 "from scratch"... maybe link step step tutorial ?
as sure mega ok , not f.....g brick

on ubuntu 14.04, mega should show /dev/ttyacm0.
