module/menu publish to all 'blog - content category' items - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi all, trawled archives quite while couldn't find solution or clear answer on this, seems work me on 1 page , no others , can not figure out why:

basically have bunch of 'blog - content categories' linked main menu.
i have sub menu each main menu item (some of these contain 'blog - content categories') .

i click 'blog - content category' main menu , correct listing of content item intro texts , sub menu.

but if click on 'read more' link, second menu disappears. guess need able publish menu module pages not linked menu item (based on category). can't seem in site module parameters (the template manager seems have same limitation)

the confusing thing seems work 1 of categories though can't spot differences menu manager, or site module parameters

any hugely appreciated!
