LCD 16x2 Pi Plate Soldering - Raspberry Pi Forums

hi there.

please explain how connect soldered lcd 16x2 pi plate raspi gpio (without use of jump wires!!!). have (excuse ignorance) 'adaptor-thingy' classified female part seems slide straight onto gpio pins.

have pi 2 b. i've tried sliding adapter thing onto pins nothing happens- no feedback on screen , tried running

sudo i2cdetect -y 1

"--" each pin.
if tried running examples on pi etc. tells me i've got input/output error.

maybe i've soldered lcd pi plate wrong?

attaching file of how lcd pi plate correctly soldered , placed onto pi should extremely helpful , great. (remember without use of jump wires)
