i'm relatively new ubuntu , have been happily running jaunty couple of months. upgraded karmic koala yesterday , experiencing problems launching thunderbird:
when launching through application>internet>mozilla thunderbird, program fails load.
going thought terminal following message:
/opt/thunderbird/thunderbird-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: no such file or directory
checked in synaptic , have libstdc++6 installed.
removed , reinstalled thunderbird problem continues exist.
looks similar issue described here:http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=599452
running thunderbird 2.0.0.23.
appreciated!
many thanks!!
i suggest reinstalling thunderbird, should install correct librarys, error getting pointing at. may not thunderbird itself, add-on have installed causes thunderbird fail load.
backup thunderbird folder in home directory (it hidden , called ".thunderbird").
use synaptic or command line remove , reinstall.
cheers, nick
