Thread: How do i upgrade from 8.04 to 9.10 without losing my settings and data?

i'm running dual boot system ms xp , ubuntu 8.04 hardy heron. want upgrade 9.10. question "how can upgrade new 9.10, (i've burnt cd) , still keep settings , data?".

nightmare me backup stuff , make new installation...

please don't mind i'm new here, i'll appriciate simpler remidies....

ps: know, hard rid of ms me, can't find engineering tools proe , ansys on linux.... :/
