fm 7.2
problem 1
for cross-reference marker having name, need able find cross-references map in order review context of each.
the logical way done able type marker name in text field in find command using option "any cross-reference", text ignored.
i have figured out can delete marker, update references, unresolved references using find command, , when i'm done, reinsert marker , update references again.
is there more efficient solution?
problem 2
in using find command option "cross-reference of format:", if enter "<$pagenum>" in text field, command finds nothing though have cross references format. i've tried preceding special characters slashes.

you may open special > marker dialog box, use find > marker text: , specify text string. text string in marker types; make sure marker found cross-ref marker.
depending on purpose/content, may include wildcards in search string, e.g string ^[0-9]*: section (with use wildcards selected) locate digit @ beginning, followed number of alphanumeric characters, followed colon, space , pgf tag name present when cross-reference inserted.
find > "cross-reference of format:" looks specified cross-format name. if type "heading" in text box, cross-reference format has "heading" in located -- such "heading & page" (you may use location indicators, case sensitivity or wildcards control search).
