Raspberry pi <=> Arduino Uno - serial problem

hi,
i have project in uno reports via serial pi. pi runs python script.
the problem have this: if connect uno after pi has started serial messages come through fine. if start (the uno , running immediately) messages come though corrupted. sending reset message uno not help. ideas?

without seeing code, how can know?

a common problem pc code not allow arduino reset when serial port opened.

have @ code in python demo
