trying project involving use of 2 buttons , 16 leds, yet have extremely limited knowledge of python. goal create device pi use buttons inputs , out put led. have access leds, buttons, resisters, , sufficient amount of jumper cables, pi , breadboard.
goal create series of 4 questions, each of answered yes or no 2 different buttons. yields 16 different ways 4 questions can answered, corresponding 1 of 16 leds. wish use third button bring process start point.
can offer or code necessary perform task?

build egg_timer first; similar in respects binary load lifters !
... once understand structure of code, extending sixteen leds , 4 buttons should not difficult leap.
learned new chip (for me) week... mcp23017 | mcp23s17 allows (with couple of lines) control multiple io lines (inputs , outputs) easily. chip comes in 2 flavors i2c , spi.
build egg_timer first, feet wet in python; wire either bread board (or gertboard) (both pictured) , study codes; feel free expand on them !
