there issue users getting grey-boxes instead of imported tiff graphics in framemaker 7. often, these tiffs fine in framemaker 6 , system hardware did not change in interim.

1) make sure have enough ram, hard disk space, latest video drivers, , video card--certainly meet minimum requirement of framemaker 7 consider windows xp , associated apps make prudent using 256+ mb ram , 32-64mb video card (sean's numbers, not adobe's).
2) download , install 2 framemaker 7 patches (for u.k. users, there three): .
3) if gray boxes persist, consider batch converting tiffs alternate format, such png or eps (for cmyk).
4) @ least of time, framemaker 7 bug; read following account framers framemaker users' list (http://www.frameusers.com):

we're working on fixing latest bug, recent organizational changes in frame engineering group, you're aware of, may take more time before things start getting better , faster.
this problem got escalated high enough, not have eta resolution @ time.
