What is the point of bridging joomla with a forum? - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

this newb question....

all i've read far people can log onto joomla site , go forums without having logon again.

but guess i'm confused is, why log on joomla site?  can person when log on main page?!

it depends on how site set up.

you might have content available registered users.  might have other components rely on logged in user permissions function in frontend.  example, there calendar component people can add events frontend.
