way manually adjust touchpad setting in karmic koala?

touchpad has bouts of being erratic, & scrolling acceleration off charts.

under system>preferences>mouse can adjust mouse speed under touchpad tab. far being erratic, have same issue , waiting on in seperate thread.

edit: feel dumb not noticing xubuntu tab. sorry that.
