Thread: Removing icon of ext. hdd on desktop

i have icon of external hdd on desktop when plugged in.

there anyways remove icon? googled there's nothing relevant..

cannot move trash. happens when try delete it.

you can tell not auto-mount, you'd lose access device. default, when device (hard-drive, cd, usb device etc) 'found' , mounted ubuntu, 'tells' has succeeded popping icon on desktop.
