last night switched display mode netbook display regular display through preferences menu. when turned computer on thing displayed default wallpaper (no menu access, when open programs top bar minimize/maximize buttons absent, can't switch windows).
created folder on desktop , through found terminal in usr/bin. friend suggested upgrading 9.10, unsure of how through terminal.
not want fresh install because have important files on netbook. appreciated.
definitely upgrade 9.10, fixed ton of issues me. noticed date on post fixed issue, upgrade go system - update manager , there option upgrade @ top
