please can assist portrait ad player trying create.

have turned samsung 40" screen portrait, raspberry pi 3 has worked can not play videos @ all. vlc not want show image or sound either.

need machine work simplest customer (tom, dick & sarah);
1. power on
2. play video/photos/powerpoint
3. power off

can achieve this?

there others out there. grab handful of sd cards , way can try each of different programs see 1 fits needs.

if run pi lamp server. can in php , have nice kiosk show different media running off of code.
