hi
i doing project on swarming of uavs, 1 master , multiple slaves. planning use xbee communication device.
i face problems choosing xbee module. referred sparkfun xbee buying guide, still confused buy.
btw, using apm 2.6 our controller.
any enlightenment here.
thank in advance

choose frequency legal in country.
surprisingly, availability of frequencies within various ism bands varies country country. example, 900mhz band unusable in australia unless careful choose sub-set of channels don't overlap licensed operators.
the 2.4 ghz band may usable, or may be unreliable if working in typical office environment multiple wifi access points within 70m radius.
the "pro" versions of xbees have higher power output more expensive. again need check regulations in country maximum allowed output power. using large number of high power (63mw) transmitters may cause interference other wifi users in adjacent buildings.
if working indoors in single room (non xbee) infra red communication may cheapest , reliable option.
