Simple Temperature Controller Help

i interested in making controller temp range of 100-1000 degrees fahrenheit. use pid controllers projects have little more versatility , create more simple user experience. using 150 watt heater , k type thermocouple. use ssr switch circuit. need advice/assistance making controller simple led display , and up(increase) , down(decrease) button. not have experience advise appreciated. components need. chip makes sense.
