Can't Get Joomla Installation to Start - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

i've gone through getting joomla uploaded go daddy account, , can view in root directory when accessing ftp page. i've gone sql db, , shows have db, whenever browse site, i've been told in of how to's....it doesn't launch , tells me page i'm trying access on server doesn't exist. appreciated.

can tell me did? setup empty database, , unzip joomla! package , upload through ftp. visit site , installer should run. so... there different might have done?
