ok, new ubuntu, appreciate explicit answers if poss!
anyway thought play around installing ubuntu on spare machine otherwise has been gathering dust since 2004. has win me on @ moment if remember correctly misbehaving, hence thought best re-format disk , clean ubuntu install. far have ordered free 9.10 cd eagerly waiting for. if hose hard disk, able install working system cd? ie take care of drivers required motherboard (abit kt7 raid)?
looking @ pocket guide , reference pdf speaks of 3 install methods
a) using dual boot
b) within widows
c) vitual computer
none of these seems way forward. can spell out me please?
when receive cd wise run live cd first see how gets along computer. when boot cd, should first option given on list, run ubuntu without making changes system. give chance see how ubuntu works on computer. should work great you.after that, can fresh install , remember here , willing along way.
