Cannot install the drivers for Arduino Uno at Windows 7. I am not pointing FTDI

i followed every step care. use windows 7, arduino uno. sure using recent versions of all. have 2 lights on arduino , windows knows there. not device likely. here did until now:

as described in arduino website, point d:arduino\drivers folder, not ftdi (although desperately tried too). can see inf folder when navigate there apperantly windows cant.

i message "windows cannot find software driver upgrade." tried installing manually choosing let me choose drivers list in computer. tried both arduino llc , arduino srl there, none worked. error "device cannot started - code 10"

i tried arduino erw, did not well.

i installed devcon64.exe located in drivers folder , did not help.

i unzipped old_arduino_drivers.zip , see if recognize other, no. did not.

so, do?

can recall board recognized inside device manager before attempted installed drivers?

if not uninstall drivers, unplug , reinsert usb cord , check. let me know outcome , try best guide through getting board functional.
