i building wife's machine today. got update both mine , hers after installed brand new 9.10 on machine.
later tried empathy thingy work wouldn't connect accounts, former windoze user told reboot.
clicks restart menu on right corner , nothing happens. same logout, shutdown name it.
so, here telling open console , type "sudo reboot".
comes login screen type in pwd , goes through shiny screen , comes login. no wrong pwd warning - tested wrong pwd , different. can hit alt+ctrl+f1 , login in console session no prob, not forgotten pwd!!!
say, honey, enough of this, lets have wine. i'm going shutdown computer (the former windoze user am) , same symptoms. menu not react!
lovely wife told me "you better don't shut s*&^ down!". that's how i'm still writing...
so, going on????

forgot add computer running 9.10 fine since oct 29 , able shut down , come back. must caught today.
