hi,
i'm using ubuntu both server , client. (ubuntu server, , ubuntu desktop)
have ebox installed, , created file shares using , samba module.
whenever copy file shared folder, (from ubuntu desktop) changes permissions , ownership of files.
example:
have file on desktop, , has following permissions seen ls -l
i can open file in transmission or rtorrent, , begin download ubuntu.code:-rw-r--r-- 1 waspinator waspinator 26424 2009-11-04 20:50 ubuntu-9.10-server-amd64.iso.torrent
when copy file samba shared folder permissions , ownership of files change to:
i can no longer open file in transmission or rtorrent. says file corrupt.code:-rwxr--r-- 1 root __users__ 26424 nov 4 20:50 ubuntu-9.10-server-amd64.iso.torrent
if copy file back, , change permissions, still cannot opened transmission/rtorrent.
worried samba messing files. removed "force create mode" in
/usr/share/ebox/stubs/samba/smb.conf.mas did not help. removed "enable privileges = yes", nothing changed either.
here smb.conf file ebox generates:
