heard once linux installed computers don't need security suite, anti-virus, firewalls,etc.
is true or myth?
if true, can consider myself safe have router?

this truth. linux systems typically don't need anti-virus program because there few native linux viruses out there, , if one, can't damage because of permission level average user runs at. people install anti-virus on linux machine keep windows viruses residing on file , email servers.

far firewalls, it's advisable use firewall if have internet facing machine running hosting services such http, ftp, ssh, etc.
