1 site - two templates... Quick question... - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

i have site needs 2 templates. both same except middle section , bottom banner.

am over-simplifying process creating indexalt.php , altering uploading original directory? or have activate lone template page somehow?

does have whole new template adjoining files?

i hoping not - when go assign template - dont see indexalt.php page.

and - since first joomla site - don't want collapsable css thing - i'm building in tables.

you'll need create complete template package (with different name) , install using template installer.

the page on want new template used need assigned menu menu item. can add unused/unpublished menu or can create new dummy menu/menu item , leave them unpublished.

once you've created menu item go admin->site->template manager->site templates.
click radio button new template , click 'assign' button.
select menu item page want template used on.
