Piezo buzzer - do they all do all tones?

i want use buzzer in small project control level crossing on model railway. 2 tone buzzer.

it seems piezo buzzer should fine, , using tone() function produce whole range of tones.

however, when buy buzzer, store lists them coming "drive" circuit, , gives them frequency rating - resonant frequency.

my question is:

if buy "piezo buzzer" comes rated frequency , [internal oscillator] drive circuit, can still use tone() produce range of sound?

no.
there 2 types of buzzers.
active (with drive circuit) , passive (piezo).
the flat ones passive.
they can used different tones, , music.
