CS4 will not install

hi,

i wondering if offer me advice/suggestions. have gotten cs4 design premium. upgrade because purchased cs3 school store , cs4 released month later. received cs4 in beginning of february decided try install it.

my first thought needed have cs3 on computer, cs4 received upgrade. called customer service , found out not case. after had managed disk 1 onto computer , disk 2 continuously failed. didn't show had disk in drive. told take cs3 off of computer, take disk 1 of cs4 off of computer, re start, , try install cs4 again. took advice of representative, of course did not work. couldn't take cs4 disk 1 off of computer apparently adobe speed launcher had closed.

after going through horrible time of me wanting smash cpu sledge hammer, decided in best interest reformat hd. remaining components of cs3 off of computer fast , easy way. not great idea on part. ended having take computer have diagnostic test done because vista giving me problem. got straightened out. vista no longer corrupt. down loaded of updates windows vista. time tell new , improves reason of why cs4 not install on computer. apparently, cs4 doesn't think have service pack 1 vista on computer. have sp1 vista on computer. of updates date. cs4 tells me otherwise , refuses install. thank in advance can offer advice.

for reference have:

gateway - gt5656
amd athalon 64 x2 dual core processor 6000+ 3.00 ghz
3070 mb ram
425 gb of 454 gb free
bfg geforce 9800 gt - 512 mb gddr3 - x16 pci express
windows vista 32 bit

respectfully,

j.l. smith

first, version of vista 32-bit? must @ least home premium, if things started install first time isn't issue.

second, if installer reporting don't have sp1 it's worth checking. did download , install sp1? don't know, because don't run vista, if sp1 automatic update, or if security patches included in automatic.

in xp can right-click on computer , select properties. on general tab tell service packs installed. there has equivalent in vista, should check , sure sp1 listed.
