Administrative Site Issues - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

first, new joomla! user error here of issues having.

1. when open section in section manager , go cancel or save, ie6 shows @ bottom "error on page".  have use arrow out of page , use global checkin check page in.
2. same thing happens in category manager.
3. other admin functions seem work o.k.
4. not have wsywig editor though site configuration shows tinymice published , default editor.
5. when try upload template, though directories show writable, error saying couldn't accomplish task.

i've checked directory permissions , of them writable administrator.
i've checked $mosconfig_absolute_path , correct.  did check using little php checker suggested in 1 of forums.

any suggestions?
