Powering Vexta PK266-E2.0A stepper motor with Seeed motor shield

hello, im looking power vexta stepper motor (http://catalog.orientalmotor.com/item/stepping-motors/pk-series-stepping-motors/pk266-e2-0a?&seo=110) seeed motor shield, vexta takes 2amps , 3.6 bipolar volts, im wondering, if sheild ill able put 5 volts through resitors , such, down 3.6v, , if work seeed shield. on subject matter appreciated

that motor driver based on old technology , not designed type of motor. need chopper-style motor driver there aren't on hobby market can supply 2 amperes/channel. this 1 work @ lower torque, if set current limit 1.5 amperes/winding.

one possibility use seeed studio driver 15v, 2 ampere power supply , current-limiting resistor in series each winding, 10 ohms, 20 watts. give 1 ampere/winding , half rated torque, plus fair bit of waste heat.
