i work in field, in windows networks. have lot of tools, manage servers, disk usage, uptime, etc. there applications that can add ubuntu manage status of, say, samba services file server? or perhaps detailed listing of status of hard drives, etc? nice vnc frontend displays of computer names on network , allows me pick , choose based on computer name/ip address 1 want connect to?
curious if there's more tools out there ubuntu i'm aware. guys think?
i presume want gui tools since come windows background...
find mrtg useful monitoring routers. , phpmyadmin nice way monitor/admin mysql database server.
else better done command line.
*have* embrace command line beyond basic functionality on linux systems.
