i wanted showcase think great variant of multimedia center. basically, involves hooking rpi3 mobile led mini-projector , setting wifi access point in order control whole thing smarthpone.

hardware required setup:

• raspberry pi 3 (or rpi usb wifi dongle)
• led projector internal battery (cheap one or more expensive one)
• smartphone
• hdmi<->hdmi cable
• powerbank, if projector cannot supply power rpi

using asus s1 projector, had @ home. has output usb port can supply 1a 5v power raspberry pi. know it's below requirements, i've empirically tested , far working perfectly. can hold 2 hours of playback on internal battery, pretty impressive. projector has built-in speakers therefore means can have wireless, unplugged, mobile cinema. rpi runs raspbian sets wifi access point on startup connect smartphone it. kodi installed on top of raspbian , starts automatically.

on smartphone, need have kodi remote installed (like kore), , connect ap created rpi. do, share video file on wifi smartphone. in such setup, phone close pi, connection should enough play videos on wifi.

easy , quick set up, nevertheless can post detailed instructions if there demand.
