once thing i've notice during tinkering ubuntu curious lack of reboot requests after mucking around. there couple instances notified reboot, part changes take place, or notice them after reboot.

there rule of thumb when comes knowing when reboot? know hardware/driver tinkering must, other have no clue.

curious. getting tired of rebooting when doesn't make squat of difference.

haven't spent time @ command line prompt in years. nice it.

the nice thing linux not require reboot. times have had kernel update... making system changes in root need reboot take effect.

rule of thumb have reboot after changing root settings. , when reboot icon comes up. otherwise should go!!
