Thread: Firefox prevents music playing??

i have noticed (that's not hasn't been happening along) whenever have firefox/firefox+facebook open, cannot play music through spotify or audacious or rhythmbox or vlc etc. happens if firefox open first.

spotify complains there problem sound card
audacious sits @ 00:00 , hangs
rhythmbox sits @ 00:00
vlc looks it's playing, there no sound.

have read page tries deal prob in spotify, using alsa sound device , deleting in ...windows\profiles\[username]\app data\spotify... dir (i.e. profile settings) , starting afresh. worked @ first not thereafter.

don't know whether firefox allround, or pages facebook have sounds (e.g. fb chat "pop").

ideas? it's starting bug me! cheers

edit: it's same problem other way too: if audacious playing before start firefox, don't sound youtube vids or other page.
