if shut down digitial editions , re-open it. alway black box message "there new version of adobe digital editions available. continue using adobe digital editions must download update." follow instructions clicking "launch" , "yes" on installer. can open files i'm playing in de. must have done 15 times already. why doen't update stick after closing de or not getting update @ all?
i'm using imac mac os 10.4.11. i'm playing free downloaded files , i've tried adapting oeb epub , made simple epub test file learn how it's done. have old pc windows xp on digital editions seems work fine.

1 of 2 things happened.
1.) when happens me because moved copy of ade it's normal place (~/library/preferences/macromedia/flash player/www.macromedia.com/bin/digitaleditions1x5 ) someplace else - ade reinstall there.
2.) using alias put applications folder (because actual path horrendous) , when upgrade happens alias didn't updated. in case delete alias - or retarget above path.
