"#" character showing up when saving as PDF in FM 8?

hello,

we've used fm years, operator , service manuals - upgraded fm8, , have new problem. when save pdf, # character @ random points in pdf - there no rhyme or reason appearance or location.

we've applied both fm patches, we've tried different fonts , different pdf profiles,and nothing works. sounds similar problem being had question marks showing randomly, unfortunately latest patch didn't work. ideas?

further original post, further info follows:

platform: windows xp, sp2 both pcs happens on functional graphics run cs3 master suite, corel, quark, etc.

weve applied patches, through adobe updater (the download link doesnt work) version 8.0p273

we used file - save pdf option saving either high quality or x1a pdf (but weve tried types, rectify problem persists options).
