i have made clean re-install of ubuntu 9.10 on 2nd machine , hit glitch synaptics
wanted install gnuplot , searched "all", finding 3 entries mentioned gnuplot in text entries no sign of gnuplot , associated packages
scrolling manually through entire list, there , able select , install
odd
i find quick search not goog job of finding programs search button. no idea why not.
