maybe might better in website , forum section, i'll let moderators decide.
in light of recent events concerning arduino family feud; things going start terribly wrong open source aspect of ide. unless, community make our opinions known.
i make post neutral intentions, regardless of feel situation regarding llc vs srl battle, need face facts:
regardless of commercial front, whether arduino.cc or arduino.org, open source community aspect of project located here: https://github.com/arduino/arduino. no matter either side of battle tries do, repo ours. guess "forked beyond repair", , if ever dies, on 3000 copies of repo still exist.
yet people visiting arduino.org sent download contains different software named same thing (https://github.com/arduino-org/arduino).
if things drag on time, arduino.org supporting boards we, arduino community folk not have support in our ide's. given newbies go waste or cause great confusion when inferior software fails support take granted.
i put them (arduino.org) that, they: need rename software, making clear users not arduino ide, , users cannot expected receive support community based around ~completely~ different software package. or need contribute too, , provide legitimate version of, arduino ide. there 3rd party developers contributing official open source project, there no reason why arduino.org cannot same. fork in opinion not in best interests of open source community.
it clear 1 real thing:
arduino/arduino
arduino-org/arduino
anyway, if show support idea head on over issue created here , add thumbs ( :+1: ) rename fork , use less confusing versioning. on night list grew quickly, 162 people have shown support.

- regardless of how has been added sides of arduino.org software, arduino ide ahead on 1000 commits.
- arduino.org attempting piggy arduino.cc forums. actively sending people here (forum.arduino.cc) receive support product. (arduino-org/arduino/.../readme.md).

@colinta amazing metaphor btw. "fork" recent. since download our repo , push on repo looks started in 2011 because that's when arduino moved github, our git history starts there repo more recent.
dear friends arduino community, support. please keep commenting , keep showing these people real arduino!!
