GPIO and grounding issue - Raspberry Pi Forums

i've run issue using rp 2 remote switch via gpio pins. comes down fact ac outlets in building (its old) not have earth ground. seem ground whatever framework outlet connected to, in case wood. pi relies on ground monitor, know that, since neither has proper earth ground, gpio seems spike when other electronics in room turned on or off, causing gpio pin toggle low high, causing unwanted actions in remote switch system.

makes sense.

there way can resolved without having wiring in building updated (this isn't option)? know issue floating ground being generated in system, cannot come solution. thought decent sized capacitor between buildings "ground" , monitor stabilize voltage through spike, no luck.

or ideas appreciated.

thanks

grounding not idea. pi power supply isolate pi ground contact, because double isoleted , has 2 contacts in mains. solution not grounding, rather using double isolated staff controlled. spikes comes grounded controlled staff.

(double isolation means mains isolated eachothers , additionally there isolator round 2 of them)
