Tonality Presets based on ColorChecker Grayscale?

i'm newcomer photography, , i'm developing workflow batch processing of images.

i using session photo of colorchecker set white balance w/ wb eyedropper in acr. have used colorchecker images (d50 , d65) camera calibration using bruce fraser's method , various scripts.

my question follows. purpose of setting tonality (exposure, shadows, brightness, contrast), there ever circumstance make sense develop session-specific tonality preset based on matching colorchecker grayscale patches adobe rgb reference values (243/201/161/122/85/53), or should tonal parameters set on image-by-image basis.

i'm photographing paintings, , each of sessions contains different paintings - lighter/brighter , darker depending on subject matter , mix of colors. intuitively, think makes more sense adjust tonality on image-by-image (painting-by-painting) basis.

your thoughts?

in opinion, can use calibration techniques , scripts available, , create many presets want meet different situations. these presets provide starting point each of different shooting situations, , final outcome must determined how image looks you. therefore, individual image adjustment necessity.
