ok, title pretty says all, here's quick rundown of situation. got hands on older ibm thinkpad 2647 running 128 mb of ram, (i think) 700 mhz intel pentium iii processor , 30 gb scsi hdd. seeing resources pretty limited did machine old , installed minimal de using ubuntu 8.04 minimal iso install cli built de using fluxbox wm, feh , idesk desktop icon rendering, xdm display manager, rox-filer file manager , several other lightweight apps round off os. now, here's gets tricky. want enable wireless card, have no network manager installed in make easier. here's outpupt of lspci:

code:

i'm pretty sure machine has internal wireless card since firestarter firewall gui picks 2 interfaces, first being eth0, second being irda0. i've searched around on google, can't seen make heads or tails of do. appreciated, , if more information needed please feel free ask. in advance,

phil

have looked @ thinkwiki - linux thinkpad wiki

easy enough see if has internal wireless card. there plate on bottom 2 screws uncover mini-pci slot. intel or cisco card.

sound have t2x maybe t21 or t22. have t30 - wireless has worked out of box.

thinkpads easy laptops work on , there documentation @ lenovo site (even older models)
