i thought share experience others may getting new computer in near future.
on wednesday afternoon dell delivered new 64bit computer, 8g ram windows 64 xp downgraded windows ultimate 64. phoned dell , said send technician following day install windows ultimate 64 (which had paid for). live long way out of city (2 hours) quite impressed service.
this duly happened on thursday , computer running smoothly vista ultimate 64bit in late afternoon. although vista different, getting used , comes it's own security. turned off user account reminders drove me mad asking permission - turning reminders off made installs easier too. user, it's fine me.
i spent rest of day , friday installing printers (which took time getting 64bit drivers) , adobe cs3 programs. 1 of suites didn't activate called adobe (just before closing time) , activated on internet hadn't de-activated other computer properly.
so, bob's earlier advice - have cs3 production , web suites installed , cs3 indesign.
the little glitch appears indesign doesn't see fonts installed in windows folder. have deleted adobefnt.lst , reopened indesign still doesn't see them.
have missed something? or should ask in indesign forum?

are type 1 fonts? if so, yes, i've seen problem , fix has
been use truetype. can try installing them in indesign
fonts folder.
