Thread: Can't format/mount RAID0 array

greetings! setting media center pc/file server 2 1.5 tb hard drives in raid0 array. want format using ntfs or ext4... @ point don't care which.. want work.

array setup through mobo utility. under disk utility, shows 3001 gb hard disk. when create partition gives me error:

code:
one or more block devices holding /dev/mapper/isw_dacfbagddg_volume0
it's showing separate 1.5 tb drives makes me think i'm in on head. ideas?

regardless of distribution or os use still need driver hardware. since created array using motherboard utility there @ least windows driver on cd came it. driver have slipstreamed windows installation. in linux have same thing assuming ubuntu did not recognize during installation, chipset manufacturer of chip used array. how done don't know. if have chipset manufacturer name try website , see if have linux driver.

have heard linux can have issues recognizing sata controllers why /dev/mapper thing. raid adapter sata?

wrong sata controller.
