hello all, new arduino. followed installation instructions , drivers updated. using windows 7.
i having trouble opening "serial monitor" under tools uploading arduino. getting error message saying com1 not available. i'm not entirely sure means. when checking ports in device manager see arduino uno (com5) listed...not sure if that's relevant.

well problem seems have been fixed changing programmer arduino isp. still not sure how of works...but can @ least upload now.
