Need help setting up rss feeds properly for search engines: robots.txt, etc - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi all,

i'm using excellent rd_rss component produce rss feeds of category items. not want search engines index feeds - i'm bit worried duplicate content issues. i'd following , hope can tell me if on right track.

1: disallow: index.php?option=com_rd_rss&id=4 in robots.txt file - specify file this?
2: add rel="nofollow" on internal site links feeds
3: somehow add xml feed - can mix meta tag xml rss feed , work?

should xsl style xml or make feed html in case search engine indexes feed , user clicks feed?

good subject.
i'm using feed gator. creates lot of news summaries links readers can follow full story.
for search engine optimization,  seems wise flags these pages nofollow.
is there way automatically each page rss created or entire category.
doing manually take while because rss news feeds can generate lot of pages.
