i have migrated joomla recently, , have 500+ user phpbb forum bridged, along gallery2.
i'm using mehdi's bridge way.
all of backend stuff works great, visual integration of phpbb inside of joomla has been interesting.
i figured integration, not integrate end, give me clear way in integrate forum site, without use of iframe. part i'm getting hung on..
let me first explain, phpbb board bridged yahoo group, combined have audience of 1800 users between mailing list , forums. messages e-mail based yahoo group go forum, , forum posts sent e-mail based mailing list. works halfway well, quote entire other posts can drive crazy though. anyway, mod, other attachmod have installed in phpbb, , stuff along bridge works fine. after installing, copied supplied files un-modified phpbb subsilver template templates folder of phpbb. result page sites colors, no graphics whatsoever. @ point think went wrong, thinking should come joomla style menus, etc , more vanilla phpbb install (with different colors, , no images apparently even).
so restored old templates, , used 1200px wide wrapper (iframe) autoheight.
not ideal, having dynamic width in phpbb kind of nice feature, , if page gets wide, scroll bars way @ bottom of iframe. posts 1200px or less, literally kills 800x600 users , 1024x768 users well, because stuck scrolling , forth day posts aren't wide. auto width feature great!
so i'm in search of way it, , want know how following instructions bridge letter resulted in imageless, menuless, non-integrated page. know can view source on 1 of joomla pages, copy header information overall_header.tpl have top menu , logo (side menus disabled on forums anyway, again due width requirements of 1200px iframe), doesn't make dynamic changes menus easy should
what missing here? ideas?
are there phpbb <-> joomla bridges don't connect backend stuff , integrate forum without using iframe?
also, installed module show latest topics in phpbb side module in joomla, , after looking @ component source (to translate french english) thought possibly turn phpbb source modules. module using did sql querys on phpbb database, same thing phpbb original scripts do. lot more coding handle, think end being lot cleaner (visually) if converted phpbb multiple components , did backend integration. if can query latest posts, authors, link, etc, doing i'm talking here feasible (but far easy!).

i think great question, , struggling same thing. can see how technically work don't see clean way integrate phpbb visually..
