Thread: Resolutions get messed up when HDMI plugged in

i bought ati radeon hd 4890. switched old nvidia 7900gto. using kubuntu 9.10.
managed install ati drivers via envy , display working again (the effects not never mind now).
when plug in hdmi cable, connected tv, kde becomes confused.
no longer able display correct resolution on computer monitor. looks switches resolutions tv ones should monitor , vice versa.
know this?

alternatively give me way disable output tv (so acts if hdmi cable not connected).

i have switched radeonhd after flrglx gave me other problems , seems work fine ...if hdmi cable disconnected. start hdmi cable connected, no output on either monitor or tv.
know can disable damn hdmi out?
