: have no wifi on old desktop pc, did test, , sketch&web upload works fine on win7 ide 1.6.3, long power yun usb cable connected external power rather pc: yun ip address appears in tools menu needed.

it's pretty safe whenever yun says "wifi" can substitute "network" -- in other words, communications , operations should work on ethernet wifi. yes, if have ethernet connection, should still able anything.
you can manually load web pages without network @ inserting sd card in computer, putting files in place, , putting sd card in yun. again, there isn't point in putting web pages on yun if have no network serve them over...
