Thread: How do I do a fresh install with LVM?

i trying fresh install of ubuntu 9.10 onto lvm.

have 2 1tb hard drives.

have created 3 partitions.

on first hard drive have logical partition, whole hard drive used physical volume lvm.

on second hard drive have primary partition 255 mb used ext4 /boot mount point , bootable.

on second hard drive have logical partiton, rest of space. used physical volume lvm.

have created volume group called glen-desktop.

have added both physical volumes lvm partitions volume group 2tb.

have created 2 logical volumes: swap, 6gb , root rest of space.

have set swap used swap space.

have set root used ext4 , has mount point set /.

have installed os when tries boot. shows white ubuntu logo while goes black. if press key show busy box terminal error: found 1/4 of meta data gave waiting root device.

have tried putting /boot partition on first , second hard drive , did not work.

have tried installing 9.04 gets same problem.

can't find ubuntu guides on how set lvm. doing wrong?

in past did lvm working 9.04 can't remember how did it.

come on there must knows how setup lvm?
