i have been asked large scale website large variation of features , think joomla best base it. have produced few joomla sites small , basic compared requirements of site. need work out components/modules/mambots available allow me create functionality. can take list of not yet available custom joomla! development forum , find coder or 2 me.
below list of required functionality. i'm have trawl through extensions directory , see there available suitable, if can recommend while i'm doing it, appreciated! also, if doesn't think possible joomla! (although i'm hoping be!), can suggest software would, open source or licensed.
gallery
---------
frontend:
1) simple layout (i.e. easy use), without being basic in functions
2) no pop ups, needs self contained within main window.
3) pictures sale once thumbnail clicked on there need clickable list of available sizes next full size image that, when clicked, automatically add item shopping basket (full requirements further down).
4) larger version of picture needs available digital download once paid for, not sure best way this.
backend:
1) able accept uploads of 800 x 600, in bulk (1500+ week).
2) able automatically resize thumbnail , medium size (apx. 467 x 467)
3) automatic addition of watermark medium sized pictures.
4) restricted access users can upload albums.
shopping system

frontend:
1) basket box @ side of pages. list of items in basket, total cost, delete button allow users remove items basket whatever page on on site, view basket/checkout button. (see play.com example of mean)
2) checkout in few stages possible, example
page 1:
list of items in basket
select postage type
insert discount code (not required function, useful if simple enough)
page 2:
total price
select payment method.
if paypal, ask paypal details , address if ordering physical item (i.e. not digital download)
if cc ask full details
page 3:
order confirmation
if buying digital copy, provide access direct page (again, not sure how done)
3) 1 of services offered site membership visitors, provide, depending on level of membership (i.e. silver/gold) discount purchases, and/or number of free digital downloads month. need integrated shopping basket.
what's on

the site needs able offer venues, djs, etc become members, own mini-site can log in , following:
