Thread: Startup Applications: Command does not run

hi all!

when create startup item startup applications (gnome-session-properties) using following steps (designed correct problems computers booting muted), changes not take effect on startup:

1. run 'alsamixer' in terminal.
2. settings want them , press esc exit.
3. run 'sudo alsactl store 0' in terminal. may error saying "home directory x not ours." can safely ignore that.
4. run gnome-session-properties , click "add". put "alsamixer restore" name blank, , "/sbin/alsactl restore" command blank. feel free add description if like.
6. click "add" finish making startup item , click "close" exit gnome-session-properties.
7. reboot , check results!

however, people can't test that, disregard it. important thing: created sanity-check startup item called "startup applications" command 'gnome-session-properties'. program not run @ startup, wrong either startup applications, or way doing things.

ideas? in advance!
