at suggestion of member, i'm posting here in addition posting on windows photoshop forum:
i shoot raw, always, , have avoided using camera raw in workflow until (4.3.1), because time , organization effort saved including camera raw 4.3.1 in workflow, wasn't in previous versions.
my problem had been trained in numerous canon tutorials perform input sharpening first step in workflow, using radius of 0.3 , amount of 300 in photoshop cs2, in order remove effects of camera sensor's anti-alias filter.
this possible in photoshop, since camera raw controls limit parameters 0.5 , 150. workflow first forced photoshop proper followed camera raw, if follow canon's recommendation, means lose 1 of principle benefits of using camera raw 4.3.1.
i have reviewed many posts , tutorials relating sharpening in lightroom, camera raw, , photoshop, , none of these documents refer input sharpening part of workflow, use of sharpening creative tool in image manipulation or optimizing media, etc.
