Camera Noir V2 seems to have killed RPi3 - Raspberry Pi Forums

hi
been using r-pi3 couple of months now, no problem.
bought camera noir v2 , tried installed.
follwed instructions fit & double checked connector looked correct - ( have used type of connector before.)
powered - no boot - in fact no activity light - power light fine.
pulled plug , checked connections again - power, hdmi, , usb keyboard/mouse.
powered - again no activity lght.
tried again without camera plugged in - same again !!
read "won't boot sticky"
tried again cloned sd card "i had made earlier" - still no joy.
have month old pizero.
tried sd card piz in pi3 - no activity light.
tried sd card pi3 in piz - booted fine.

seems pi3 had died !!
coincidentaly plugging in camera !!
faulty camera kill pi3?

has heard of similar sudden death?
